Claudia grew up in Broken Hill (Far West NSW) so she knows first-hand how much travel is involved to access specialist services, ‘big’ shops like IKEA and most importantly, the beach. This sparked her passion for providing services to people from rural communities, but why limit this passion to only rural communities when anyone can access Speech from anywhere with Spot?
Broken Hill locals refer to any travel out of town as ‘away’, whether it be 50kms down the road or overseas! Claudia moved ‘away’ and completed her Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology (with Distinction) at Charles Sturt University in Albury. She worked in rural Victoria for 2 years in community health and discovered a love for telehealth during the COVID-19 lockdown period. Claudia is now a farm girl and lives on a cattle and sheep property in Victoria (and only 30 minutes away from the beach!).
Claudia is experienced in providing clinical services to children and adults in areas of speech, language, pragmatics, voice, paediatric feeding and dysphagia. She has also worked with teachers through Speech Pathology in Schools and School Readiness funding programs rolled out in Victoria. Claudia has a keen interest in travelling and exploring the world around her and is currently learning Spanish as a second language. She loves working with people from all over Australia and hopes to explore more of our beautiful country one day. She enjoys working closely with children/adults, families and other professionals to help achieve the best and most functional outcomes for clients- no matter their age.
